Battle for Hada Rules

Battle for Hada brings to life the Portal War — a brutal conflict in which half the Hadeen tried to wipe humanity out, while the other half defended them.

In two interactive games, players will help tell the story of the end of the war and how an uneasy truce was negotiated.

The free-to-play Portal War game will flesh out interactions between the four primary Dominions that lead to peace.

The paid Council of Dai game establishes the borders and relative strengths of all thirty-six of Hada's Dominions at the end of that 100-year-long conflict.

How it works

In Battle for Hada, the fairy-world is divided into game pieces (or hexes) representing a map of the various kingdoms: 10,000 'inhabited' game pieces available now and four thousand 'Reaved Land' hexes that may be made available in a future activation.

The available game pieces are divided between thirty-six fairy Dominions.

There are six thousand game pieces representing the four Dominions that played the biggest roles in the Portal War: Auga, Pydos, Hogo Sha and The Walking. The borders of these four Portal Dominions are fixed.

There are four thousand game pieces for the thirty-two Dominions introduced in the Council of Dai game. The size and borders of these Council of Dai will be determined by the Council of Dai game piece sale.

Portal players control the most influential Dominions and participate in both the free-to-play Portal War game and the Council of Dai game, which includes interactive storytelling  'Events' between all thirty-six dominions — Portal and Council. Council players have additional interactivity in determining the size and borders of their chosen Dominion.

How it works

INTERACTIVE STORYTELLING WITH 'GLIM'

In the Emerald Anvil story-world, the Hadeen manipulate a mysterious form of energy called 'Glim' to create wings and diamond-hard blades of light. In Battle for Hada, Glim is the 'currency' used in the interactive games.

The amount of Glim produced by each game piece (hex) represents its power relative to other hexes and determines its owner's ability to influence story events.

Each game piece begins with a Glim value of 100, with various factors affecting its final amount: type of hex, the biome of the hex and the 'attributes' randomly assigned to the hex (0-3 attributes per).

Owners of game pieces will gain access to Dominion-specific Discord servers and use their Glim to vote on military, political and/or cultural interactions with other Dominions. Through these events, players help create part of Emerald Anvil's canon storyworld.

DETERMINING THE BORDERS in Council of Dai

How it works

The borders of the four Portal Dominions are predetermined, but the size and strength of the thirty-two Council Dominions are established through gameplay. In Council of Dai , the Council Dominions are grouped into four 8-Dominion 'quadrants'.

Each Council Dominion has a set minimum of forty game pieces and a sliding maximum number of game pieces, based on how many hexes are sold in each Dominion, per quadrant. The most hexes for any individual Council Dominion is two hundred eighty.

When the paid Council of Dai game piece sale is completed; the number, types, biomes, and borders of the thirty-two Council Dominions are fixed. Unsold game pieces (if any), are pushed into an 'unclaimed' category.

Unsold game pieces within the four Portal Dominions (if any) remain in their original Dominion.

How the Game Pieces Work

Game Pieces represent an area of land on Hada. These parcels of the fairy world are depicted as three dimensional hexes on a map. There are five basic types of hex:
